HKUST Launches First Locally Developed Generative AI Model
The Hong Kong Generative AI Research Center (HKGAI), led by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), officially launched its first locally developed generative AI model, HKGAI V1, on February 25th. This significant breakthrough injects new vitality into Hong Kong's AI ecosystem, marking a major advancement for Hong Kong in this cutting-edge technology field. HKGAI V1 is the industry's first large model based on DeepSeek technology for full parameter fine-tuning and continuous training, featuring a powerful local knowledge base and the ability to understand and generate Cantonese.
